THE FD VENTORA

February 1968 saw the launch of the Vaxuhall Ventora, mating the Victor FD body with the 3.3 litre six-cylinder engine that had previously been offered in the Cresta and Viscount. The extra power and torque of the ‘big six’ offered effortless performance and clearly placed the Ventora above the rest of the FD range.

To emphasise the more upmarket feel the interior featured extra insrumentation, 4-speed floor change, centre console and improved seating. Extrenally a vinyl roof covering, ornate front grill and distincive wheel trims completed the look. In October 1969 the revised Ventora 2 was introduced with better interior trim, new rear seat design, reclining front seats and higher final drive ratio.
